Mom or Dad caught the sunfish, which was a nice size. They repeatedly dropped it in the water – maybe they were teaching the youngsters how to fish. The little loons had a ball repeatedly retrieving the fish.

What a mouthful! A family of 4 loons will consume about 2,300 pounds of fish in 15 weeks. (According to UW-LaCrosse)

Again, thanks to Tom Prince, the best photo guide ever!
