About

I consider myself a “river rat.” I have lived along the Mississippi River my entire life- from my birth in southeast Iowa, to my college years on the Missouri (which, after all is a tributary of the Mighty Miss); a few years in Memphis; 38 years in Muscatine, IA; and now in  Northeast Iowa. I have always loved this magical river, and I am inclined to believe that my blood must be a muddy brown color. My early heroes were Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn – I have always wanted to see what lies around that next bend on the river. Thus, a lifelong dream was fulfilled when my husband and I traveled from the Twin Cities to the mouth of the Ohio River on our boat.

I feel truly blessed to live on the shore of the Mississippi in the area to which my great-grandparents immigrated long ago. I am continually awed by the colors of the passing seasons and the ever-changing moods of this great River. I am passionate about capturing images of the bluffs and valleys of the Driftless Region to showcase the beauty of God’s handiwork. There is nowhere on earth I would rather be!
