School Days in the Log Village
The Log Village in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, shows life in SE Iowa in the 1850’s. Volunteers demonstrate this one-room school, a blacksmith shop, spinning yarn, cooking, woodworking, and more.
Lunch was stew and bread cooked in Dutch ovens in an open fire. The kids said it was as delicious as it looked.
